Itinerary

Arrive in Delhi

Arrive in Delhi and transfer to your hotel for check-in at 1400 hrs. Spend the rest of the day exploring India’s vibrant capital at your own pace. Discover a city where Mughal grandeur, colonial architecture, and modern India coexist in harmony. Once the seat of mighty empires like the Mughals and the British, Delhi’s layers of history reveal a fascinating evolution through centuries. Overnight in Delhi.

Train to Amritsar & Palki Sahib Ceremony

Early morning transfer to the railway station for your train to Amritsar (0720–1345 hrs). On arrival, check in at the hotel and relax. In the evening, witness the divine Palki Sahib ceremony at the Golden Temple — a spiritual experience filled with devotion, hymns, and colour. Founded in the 16th century by Guru Ram Das, Amritsar has been a sacred centre of Sikh faith and culture for over 400 years. Overnight in Amritsar.

Explore Amritsar

Visit the Golden Temple, the holiest shrine of Sikhism, and Jallianwala Bagh, a memorial to India’s freedom struggle. In the afternoon, proceed to the Wagah Border to witness the patriotic beating retreat ceremony between India and Pakistan. The Golden Temple, adorned with real gold, was completed in 1604 under Guru Arjan Dev, while Jallianwala Bagh stands as a solemn reminder of the 1919 massacre that changed India’s freedom movement. Overnight in Amritsar.

Drive to Dharamshala

After breakfast, drive to Dharamshala (approx. 5 hrs). Check in and relax amidst the serene Dhauladhar mountains. The hill town, also known as Little Lhasa, is home to the Dalai Lama and exudes Tibetan charm. Once part of the Kangra Kingdom, Dharamshala became the seat of the Tibetan Government-in-exile in 1960 after the Dalai Lama fled Tibet. Overnight in Dharamshala.

Monasteries & Naddi Village

Explore the Tsuglagkhang Complex, Namgyal Monastery, and Gyuto Monastery, important centres of Tibetan Buddhism. In the afternoon, visit Naddi Village, a peaceful hilltop spot with panoramic views of snow-clad peaks. These monasteries preserve centuries-old Tibetan traditions, scriptures, and art that flourished in exile after Tibet’s annexation in the 1950s. Overnight in Dharamshala.

Kangra & Masroor Temples

Visit the ancient Kangra Fort, one of India’s oldest hill forts, offering sweeping views of the valley. Later, see the Masroor Rock Cut Temples, an 8th-century marvel carved from a single rock. The Kangra Fort dates back to the Trigarta Kingdom mentioned in the Mahabharata, while Masroor’s intricate carvings reflect early North Indian temple architecture. Overnight in Dharamshala.

Drive to Chandigarh

Drive to Chandigarh (approx. 5 hrs). Visit the creative Rock Garden, a fantasy world built from recycled materials, and the Capitol Complex, a modernist marvel by Le Corbusier. Built after India’s independence, Chandigarh symbolized Nehru’s vision of a progressive and planned nation, blending art and architecture with urban design. Overnight in Chandigarh.

Drive to Rishikesh

After breakfast, travel to Rishikesh (approx. 6 hrs). Check in and relax. In the evening, witness the soulful Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan Ashram on the banks of the sacred river. Rishikesh, known as the ‘Yoga Capital of the World,’ has been a centre of meditation and learning since ancient sages performed penance here. Overnight in Rishikesh.

Rishikesh Temples & Ram Jhula

Visit Rishikesh’s revered temples, including Parmarth Niketan, Triveni Ghat, and Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. Walk across the iconic Ram Jhula, a bridge named after Lord Rama. Ancient scriptures recount that Lord Vishnu appeared here to destroy the demon Madhu, making Rishikesh a sacred gateway to the Himalayas. Overnight in Rishikesh.

Drive to Haridwar

Drive to Haridwar (approx. 1.5 hrs). Explore the city’s temples and ghats, then attend the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, a mesmerizing spiritual ritual. Haridwar, meaning “Gateway to God,” is one of India’s seven holiest cities and a major Kumbh Mela site since Vedic times. Overnight in Haridwar.

Train to Delhi

Early morning transfer to Haridwar Railway Station for the train to Delhi (0622–1115 hrs). On arrival, transfer to the hotel. Spend the afternoon at leisure exploring the markets or enjoying local cuisine. Delhi, through its many dynasties,  from the Mauryas to the Mughals, has always stood as the cultural heart of India. Overnight in Delhi.

Explore Old & New Delhi – Departure

Begin with the Jama Masjid and a walk through the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk, where you will sample Delhi’s famous cuisine from a hygienic eatery on a guided food walk (closed on Sundays). Drive past India Gate and the Presidential Palace. Later, explore two UNESCO World Heritage Sites,  Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar, magnificent examples of Mughal and Sultanate architecture. These landmarks showcase the architectural grandeur of medieval India. Humayun’s Tomb inspired the Taj Mahal, while Qutub Minar symbolizes the rise of the Delhi Sultanate. Evening transfer to the airport for departure.
